How to Prepare and Use Mugwort

Mugwort can be used in tea, tincture, smudge, oil, baths, and dream pillows. Here’s how to safely and effectively incorporate it into your routine:

1. Mugwort Tea

Perfect for digestive and menstrual support, as well as dream enhancement.

To prepare:

  • Use 1 teaspoon of dried mugwort per cup of hot water.
  • Steep for 5–10 minutes (longer steep = more bitter).
  • Drink 1 cup before bed for dreamwork, or after meals for digestion.

Note: Mugwort has a strong flavor—blend with mint or chamomile to soften the taste.

2. Mugwort Tincture

A concentrated extract ideal for quick use or long-term energetic work.

Dosage: 5–20 drops in water, 1–3 times a day.

Use during menstrual imbalances, dreamwork rituals, or energetic clearing.

3. Smudging and Smoke Cleansing

Burn dried mugwort like sage to cleanse a space or aura.

  • Excellent for psychic protection
  • Ideal for clearing before rituals, meditations, or during full moons

It can also be added to incense blends or burned in a cauldron.

4. Infused Oil or Salve

Infuse mugwort into a carrier oil (like olive or jojoba) to use topically.

  • Apply to sore muscles, menstrual cramps, or joints
  • Use as an anointing oil for rituals or womb massage

5. Dream Pillows

Place dried mugwort in a small cloth sachet under your pillow to enhance dreams and subconscious clarity.

Optional additions: lavender, rose, or hops for deeper relaxation.
